Gunmen Launch Fresh Attacks In Kano Posted date: June 26, 2012 In: Crime | comment : 0 The Dala Division of the Nigeria police in kano today came under gunfire attack from armed men suspected to be members of the islamist sect, Boko Haram. Though no life has been reported lost, there are however reports that a number of police officers have been wounded in the attack. Just as news spread about the attack on the police station, heavy explosion of gunfire was heard at the Zawachiki area along Panshekara in the metropolis. As at the time of filing this report, the police and members of the Joint Security Task Force are engaged in gun battle with the invading gunmen. Beside the attack on Dala Police Division, there were also reports that the gunmen also attacked the Goron Dutse prison, which is located in the same area with the police division. The fresh attacks were said to have forced residents to abandon the streets and places of work to seek refuge in their homes.The state police command spokesman, Inuwa Dutse confirmed the gun attacks within the city.
