Fire Guts Police Force Headquarters

A strange fire this evening gutted part of the police force headquarters in Abuja. A statement by the force spokesman, Frank Mba confirmed the incident which occurred at about 7.35 pm local time.
It reads: “Today. 4th July 2012 at abt 735pm, a minor fire incident occurred in an old Portacarbin located about 75 metres behind the main, Force Hqs Building (Loius Edet House) Abuja. The structure is an old portacarbin measuring about 40 feet in length and used for storing disused and unserviceable  office materials. The fire has since been put off through combined  efforts of polis men and fire fighters. Preliminary investigation indicates that the fire might have been caused by an electrical fault. The IGP- MD Abubakar who was personally at the scene in company with other senior officers has since ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Force Hqs is calm with normal activities going on smoothly”
