Ocean Surge: Rescue Team Recovers Four Bodies From Lagos Beach
No fewer than four dead bodies have been recovered from the Kuramo beach scene of Saturday’s ocean surge in Lagos where 16 persons were swept away by the ocean tide.
National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, its counterpart in Lagos, LASEMA and local volunteers have since Saturday formed a rescue and/or search team to recover the 16 persons washed away by the surge dead or alive.
A source in the team told ireports-ng.com today that the team was able to recover three dead bodies today in addition to the only one recovered on Saturday. The source further said that more bodies would have been recovered today but for the ocean tide that swept them back into deep waters before they could be brought to the shoreline. The efforts will continue tomorrow as those already recovered have been deposited in the morgue.
