Fuel Scarcity Cripples Abuja

The seat of the Nigerian government is gradually grinding to a halt as fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja and other districts in the federal capital territory, FCT. As the situation gets worse in Abuja bringing all commercial and social activities to a halt, the umbrella body for fuel tanker drivers, NUPENG has threatened to spread the pain across the country by embarking on a nationwide strike beginning from tomorrow, Wednesday.
iReports-ng.com correspondent in Abuja observed within the city long queues of vehicles waiting to buy fuel. An indication that the scarcity is not only affecting vehicle movement but even comfort in homes and business premises that have to depend on generators to power their appliances and business was a scene in one of the filling stations visited where cars did not only queue for fuel, residents have to move their generators and jerry cans to line up for the scarce commodity as the picture above rightly confirm.
Beside this, residents who stay for hours on the queue for fuel also pay higher than the official rate to buy PMS in addition to giving bribes to filling station attendants who suddenly turn kings.

NUPENG and their masters mis calculated this time. Nigerians will support the FG on this. My only worry is that the FG is not biting hard because it has soiled it hards and lost all moral authority even when it should exercise a legal authority.
