Christ Embassy Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome In $35million Money Laundering Scam
Any moment from now, flamboyant miracle fixing pastor of Christ Embassy Church located in Oregun, Ikeja area of Lagos state, Chris Oyakhilome will be a guest of Nigeria’s anti-graft police, EFCC for using his church to launder funds which source could not be accounted for into foreign bank accounts. The illicit funds so far traced by security agents stand at over $35 million.
The latest scandal may once again bring the controversial miracle-worker pastor under public scrutiny after government suspended the broadcast of his suspicious healing programme tagged “atmosphere for miracles” on public television stations some years ago.
iReports-ng can authoritatively report that a document on the money laundering activities of the architect turned pastor was first passed to the Nigeria police force headquarters in Abuja, last year. After finding it difficult to unravel the fraud, the police forwarded the matter to the EFCC which has the expertise and powers to successfully prosecute the pastor.
According to a source at the force headquarters in Abuja, the case was sent to the EFCC and received there September 24th 2009. Another source in the EFCC also confirmed that attempts were made by some of the controversial pastor’s agents in the commission to “kill” the petition due to the electronic system of monitoring cases already put in place in the agency, called “gocase” by the United Nations Office On Drug and Crime, UNODC.
A reliable source in the agency told iReports-ng a few hours ago that ” after the initial hiccup, substantial progress has now been made on the case even though quietly and the coast now clear to invite the pastor to make some statements on his involvement in cash transfer of such huge amount of United States currency”
Apart from this discovery of money laundering activity by the pastor, a couple of his church officials and members have also of recent featured in some major fraud issues. Not quite long a time, one of his pastors in Ogba area of Lagos was said to have stolen some millions of naira from the sheraton hotels ikeja where he worked as a manager before he was sacked when the fraud was discovered. He claimed in his statement to the police then that he donated the stolen money to Oyakhilome’s Christ embassy church to buy power generating sets and other church needs.
Also of recent, a young member of the church in Benin city, Edo state was arrested and prosecuted by the EFCC for engaging in internet marriage scam through which he defrauded a white lady. In his statement before he was convicted, he was said to have also confessed that he donated the bulk of the scam money to Oyakhilome’s church where he belongs as a strong member.
Before the discovery of the pastor’s money laundering activity, Oyakhilome had been enmeshed in other major scandals such as immoral sexual engagements with church members, fighting other religious leaders, use of diabolic powers and faking miracles.
In 2008, south africa media were awash with stories of fake miracles stage managed by the pastor in a bid to woo worshipers to join his church.

Thanks you Tobi my friend for this comment of yours. I also have been among those criticizing pastor oyakhilomen as if I was an eyewitness to all the so called ‘charges’ levied against the man. But after reading your comment my eyes just opened and it occurred to me that NO ONE has ever been able to come out with any evidence apart from what was published where they’ alleged’ this and that’ I actually went to look for a dictionary to find the meaning of the word ‘alleged’ and I was shocked to read that it refers to something ‘Said, without proof, to have taken place’ and I immediately discovered that all these allegations were being paraded as if it was the truth. I think you lots are a disgrace. Even the EFFC themselves must have long discovered they have no case against the man and quietly dropped the charges. I feel really sorry for the degradation of the average Nigerian’s reasoning and mental faculties. I use the word ‘sorry because no matter how you try to enlighten them the average Nigerian would still continue to stick to their low level mental reasoning. But thank God once again for letting me read your comment which I was about to ignore before something just said I must read it.

This madness about accusing Oyakhilome of money laundering apart, here is another one regarding “a couple of his church officials (note the writer saying ‘a couple’ and proceeded to mention just 2!) …donating stolen money to Oyakhilome’s church” when no one has seen the evidence except what the donors ‘allegedly’ said to the police – also when no one has seen any police statement to that effect! Now even if there is evidence of the donations (which no one has seen up till now) how could anyone in his/her right senses held the pastor responsible for that? Or you think the guys walked up to the pastor and said ‘morning pastor, I just stole this money from my place of work and I want to donate this amount in support of the church? When would the black man start to use their sense?
Now regarding the so-called alleged money laundering case. This is a case that they claimed has been under investigation since 2008 or 2009. This is 2012 and up till now Oyakhilome has neither been arrested nor questioned. Yet this is an organ that has arrested and prosecuted many governors and very highly placed people in Nigeria. I never knew Oyakhilome is now the most powerful ‘fraudster’ in Nigeria that no one can arrest.! Please use your senses to reason and stop being a laughing stock of the rest of the world. However as someone said elsewhere here ‘the man’s success is giving everyone sleepless night’ They said worse things about Bishop Oyedepo but fact is that the more these busybodies continue with their character assassination the more the man continue to wax stronger. I wonder how many millions of dollars Pastor Oyakhilome must have added to his fortune since all these began. That’s the law of the scriptures whether you like it or not.

Ordinarily no man can judge a man of God. Let’s leave every judgement for God. Personally the man Pastor Chris has touched many lives but I think he has to look inward and flush the bad eggs out of his ministry. Personally one of his pastors in one notable town in Nigeria have done something I will call 419 to me. Sometime ago he came to me that he had a contract to supply diesel to a multinational company and he needed 70k. As at that time I was not finicially bouyant so I told him about a colleague who borrows money out at 10% per month. He agreed to pay the money and the interest at the end of that very month, after one whole year refused to pay back the capital and the interest. A friend adviced that I should arrest him any of the sundays while he is on the pulpit preaching, but I felt it will be too ridiculous; so I went and reported him to the head of royal guard a unit he belong to before becoming a pastor last year. The man promised to intervene but another year has past without the pastor paying the money. As at now the money and interest stands at . Tell me is this guy a pastor or not. Meanwhile, the guy we borrowed the money from is on my neck. I give him till the end of the year to pay the money or next time his name gsm no and church address will appear in my next comment. Thank to God for reveling this one if at all it is true, but lets face the fact as it is, since the time of Abubaker, after Abacha’s death, lots of money have been recoevered and till the time of OBJ lots more were recovered, even from state governors and senators, I wonder where those funds are been utilized or stored, if the Efcc and the government in particular wants to stop the scams and scandals of Nigeria jeopardized name, they should first look at the leaders pockets, and their own conscience.
