Igbo Loses Commissioner Slot As Lagos Governor Ambode Names 36 Member Cabinet

Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has submitted a list of 36 persons with 23 of them as Commissioners and 13 as Special Advisers to the State House of Assembly for screening and approval. Of the list, there is no single Igbo name. Ndigbo that has since the days of Governor Bola Tinubu had a commissioner slot may have lost that privilege due to their decision to vote against the ruling APC.
iReports-ng.com gathered from close associates of Mr Ambode that the governor has since made up his mind to give the Igbo in Lagos the opportunity to head two agencies, out of which a slot has already gone to the spokesman of the party in Lagos, Mr Joe Igbokwe.
On the list are six former cabinet members from the Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola administration. They are Mr. Gbolahon Lawal, Dr. Jide Idris, Folarin Coker, Mr Seye Oladejo, Engr. Ganiyu Johnson and Mr Babatunde Hunpe.
Others are Mrs. Yetunde Onabolu, Fela Bank-Olemoh, Akinyemi Ashade, a partner in KPMG, Steve Ayorinde, Alhaja Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, a pharmacist, Kehinde Joseph and Prof. Ademola Abass, a professor of Law.
Other names on the list include Dr. Akintola Benson, Dr. Abdul-Hakeem Abdul-Lateef, Dr. Mohammed Akinkunmi, Dr. Babatunde Adejare, Dr. Femi Onanuga, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, Arch. Wasiu Anifowoshe, Mrs. Lola Akande, Agboola Dabiri, Ganiu Okanlomo Sanni, Anofi Elegushi, Rotimi Ogunleye, Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, Femi Odubiyi, Alhaji Musiliu Folami, Adeniji Kazeem, Adeyemi Labinjo, Toyin Suarau, Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti, Deji Tinubu, Mrs. Mudirat Giwanson and kehinde Bamigbetan.
It is expected that the screening will commence immediately or after the Sallah holidays while approved cabinet members would likely be sworn in to resume the task of governance by Monday, 5th of October.
