APC Leaders Meet Buhari Over Kogi, Bayelsa Guber Tussle

Members of the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC have gone into a crucial closed-doors meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja over issues arising from the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa as well as the tussle over the governorship seat in Kogi state.
While the APC candidate in Bayelsa Timipre Sylva is alleging that the election was rigged in favour of the incumbent, Governor Seriake Dickson, the deputy governor-elect in Kogi, James Abiodun Faleke has gone to court to demand that he should be sworn in as governor instead of Yahaya Bello picked by the party.
In attendance at the meeting still going on inside the First Lady’s Conference Hall, were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo while other APC Chiefs were led to the meeting by the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
The meeting, which started at about 8:20pm local time is also being attended by the party’s Deputy National Chairman, Lawali Shuaib; South West Zonal Vice Chairman, Segun Oni; and the National Legal Adviser, Dr Muiz Banire SAN, among others.
Some presidential aides including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Engr Babachir David Lawal, also attended. The meeting is expected to take firm positions on the governorship elections in the two states among others.
