EFCC Grills NBC DG Emeka Mba Over Alleged N15B Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Monday, arrested the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Emeka Mba, over an alleged N15 billion fraud.

Mba was arrested in Abuja and taken to the EFCC’s headquarters where he is currently being grilled. Sources say the EFCC had been investigating the NBC in the past one month.

Last week, some EFCC detectives stormed the headquarters of the NBC, ransacking computers and files in the Finance and Account unit. During the operation, some key officials in the NBC Accounts unit were taken away.

As at the time of filing this report, the NBC boss was still being interrogated and it was not clear if he would be granted administrative bail to go home or will be kept in custody for further questioning.
